Ultrafiltration(UF)

Ultrafiltration is a polypropylene spiral filter model that is placed inside steel housings and skim milk is circulated by a pump.
The mesh of this filter is designed in such a way that casein protein and whey protein do not pass through it, but sugar, minerals and water pass through it. This filter is used to separate whey protein or a mixture of whey protein and casein. is used and its output is known as milk protein concentrate if no MF is used or whey protein concentrate if MF is used with 18 to 20% solid content.
Ultrafiltration is widely used in cheese production, and the cheese made using UF retentate has a very favorable quality.
